At Akkarouna, we believe in the power of community to drive lasting change. For over a decade, we've been dedicated to expanding meaningful access to social protection services for everyone in Lebanon, especially those who need it most. Our programs are built on participatory approaches, ensuring that the voices of the community are at the heart of everything we do.

We understand that Lebanon's social protection system faces significant challenges, including fragmentation and limited coverage, particularly for marginalized groups. That's why our holistic approach is so crucial. By fostering strong relationships between local communities, governmental entities, authorities, and stakeholders, we bridge critical gaps and empower individuals to navigate complex systems.

Our projects are designed to be inclusive and impactful, specifically targeting the most disadvantaged and marginalized populations of all nationalities and backgrounds. We are unwavering in our commitment to gender equality and ensuring that people with special needs (PWSN) are fully included and supported in all our initiatives.

To address the multifaceted needs of vulnerable communities, our programs cover critical sectors:

• Health: Ensuring access to essential healthcare services, promoting public health awareness, and supporting health infrastructure for underserved populations.

• Education: Breaking down barriers to learning by facilitating access to quality education, providing remedial support, and promoting educational opportunities for children and youth.

• Protection: Safeguarding individuals and communities from harm, violence, and exploitation, with a particular focus on vulnerable women, children, and people with special needs. This includes psychosocial support and safe spaces.

• Livelihood: Empowering individuals and households to achieve economic self-sufficiency through vocational training, job placement support, small business development, and financial literacy initiatives.

• Social Stability: Fostering cohesion and peace within communities by promoting dialogue, conflict resolution mechanisms, and inclusive social activities that bring people of diverse backgrounds together.

• Governance: Strengthening local governance structures, promoting accountability and transparency, and enhancing the capacity of local authorities to deliver effective and equitable services to their constituents.
