Since 2010, Akkarouna has been reshaping the narrative in North Lebanon, not through charity, but through capacity, courage, and community-driven action. As a women-led organization rooted in Akkar and Tripoli, we work alongside marginalized communities to foster local leadership, advance justice-centered development, and restore power to the people. Akkarouna is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering women, youth, and children as agents of change.
With a vision of a Lebanon where communities thrive through inclusivity and resilience, Akkarouna implements programs in education, child protection, women’s empowerment, youth development, livelihoods, and humanitarian aid. While its foundation is in Akkar, the organization extends its services to Tripoli, and other regions, reaching both host communities and refugees.
Guided by a rights-based, community-driven approach, Akkarouna focuses on sustainable socio-economic growth, ensuring that its interventions create lasting impact and foster long-term resilience rather than short-term relief. Following three main themes:
Well-being - Physical and Mental Health
Growth - Economic Opportunities and Financial Resilience
Knowledge - Education, Awareness, and Advocacy
our vision
Empower women, children and youth in a just and prosperous society.
our mission
Akkarouna aims at achieving sustainable socio-economic growth through empowerment of women, children, and youth by building their capacities, enhancing community networks, implementing development projects and spreading awareness about rights and citizenship.
